Managing Projects in Sharepoint - Step 5 - Setting up a Project Index Page

A department or group will most likely be managing multiple projects simultaneously.  It is useful to have a page which lists the projects and provides a brief summary of what each project is about.  This could be referred to as a Project Index Page.

The technique used to build a Project Index Page is identical to that used to build a Project Page.  Cutting and pasting the header content from a template can speed up the process.  As in the Project Page a "Summary Link" web part is used to provide links to the various project pages.  The only difference is that in the case of the Project Index Page the links are to other Sharepoint Pages rather than to documents in a Project DocumentsLlibrary.
